Here are a few spooky experiences to add to your October plans.
The Curse of Blackwater Mountain at Flathead Lake Alpine Coaster Haunted Houses in the Flathead Valley
If a traditional haunted house isn't quite thrilling enough, head to Flathead Lake Alpine Coaster in Lakeside for an experience that combines Halloween scares with an Alpine Coaster ride.

The Curse of Blackwater Mountain transforms the attraction into a nighttime Halloween experience with live actors, eerie effects, and plenty of surprises waiting in the darkness. The Halloween experience runs on Friday and Saturday nights throughout October from 8 PM to 10 PM, giving visitors another reason to make the trip to Lakeside after dark.
Haunted Houses in the Flathead Valley
And unlike a haunted house, your Halloween adventure includes something you won't find walking through a dark hallway: an Alpine Coaster. Located at 6808 U.S. 93 S. in Lakeside, Flathead Lake Alpine Coaster makes an easy addition to a Halloween weekend around Flathead Lake, Kalispell, or Whitefish.
Clydesdale Outpost Haunted Hayride
Near Whitefish, Clydesdale Outpost is bringing back its annual Haunted Hayride & Midway for 2026.
This year's theme is The Asylum, inviting guests into the story of an abandoned Flathead Valley asylum before sending them into the darkness aboard the haunted hayride.

The 2026 Haunted Hayride takes place October 15–17 and October 22–24 from 5 PM to 9:30 PM. General admission is listed at $25 per person, with children under 3 admitted free.
For groups looking for a classic Halloween attraction near Whitefish, the combination of a haunted storyline, hayride, and midway makes this one worth adding to the October calendar.
Ghost Tours at the Conrad Mansion
Not every Halloween experience needs chainsaws and jump scares.
For something with a little more history, head to Kalispell for the Ghost Tours at the Conrad Mansion. Guests walk through the historic mansion by candlelight while hearing stories about the Conrad family and strange happenings associated with the property.

The 2026 Ghost Tours take place Fridays and Saturdays from October 16–24 and are described as a family-friendly Halloween experience.
If you prefer ghost stories, historic surroundings, and an eerie atmosphere over a traditional haunted house, this is a great way to experience a different side of Halloween in Kalispell.
Get Lost in a Haunted Maze
Getting lost in a maze is one thing. Getting lost after dark when you know something might be waiting around the next corner is another.

Fritz Corn Maze, located between Kalispell and Columbia Falls, is another popular fall destination in the Flathead Valley.
The attraction operates on weekends throughout September and October, with haunted trail experiences offered on Saturdays as Halloween approaches. It's an easy option for anyone looking to combine classic Montana fall activities with a little Halloween fear.
A Family-Friendly Haunted Maze in Kalispell
Not every spooky attraction has to be terrifying.
On Friday, October 23, Flathead Sports Collective in Kalispell is hosting its Halloween Spooktacular from 6 PM to 8 PM. The evening includes a haunted maze along with games, prizes, costumes, food, and other Halloween activities.

Admission is free with a suggested donation benefiting a local nonprofit, making this one of the more family-friendly Halloween options in the Flathead Valley.
Make a Halloween Weekend Out of It
One of the best parts about Halloween in the Flathead Valley is that you don't have to choose just one experience.
Spend the afternoon exploring Kalispell or Whitefish, grab dinner, and then head out for a haunted attraction once the sun goes down. With haunted hayrides, ghost tours, mazes, and nighttime coaster rides happening throughout October, there are plenty of opportunities to build an entire Halloween weekend around the Flathead Valley.

And if you're looking for something that goes beyond the traditional haunted house, make your way to Lakeside for The Curse of Blackwater Mountain at Flathead Lake Alpine Coaster.
